A little bit of luxury
The Body Shop, Leeds
When The Body Shop launched a new flagship store in Leeds they asked me to design a secret room. Intended for clients to sample products in peace, it was also to showcase new ranges and invite journalists or bloggers to try them in comfort and privacy.
The space needed to be warm and feminine, but not overpowering. It also had to emanate the essence of the brand, whilst feeling more personal and relaxed. Being functional yet beautiful were also absolute essentials.
The colours chosen reflected the store, but they were lifted and softened with pattern and varied textures. The brand is fairly fuss free, principled and quite grown up, which are all the things that I wanted to bring to the design.
The overall feedback? Well, it was pretty much focused on the word ‘love’. Exactly what I like to hear.
